Jonathan Hadas Edwards
Jonathan Hadas Edwards is a licensed acupuncturist and herbal medicine practitioner who holds a Masters of Science in East Asian Medicine from National University of Natural Medicine in Portland, Oregon, a B.A. in Religious Studies from Swarthmore College and a writing MFA from Warren Wilson College.
Jonathan's clinical focus is on internal medicine and psychological conditions, including digestive (gut-brain) disorders, anxiety, insomnia, and men's & women's health. He enjoys helping patients better understand their body and strengthen their health foundations through diet and lifestyle.
Passionate about acupuncture and a dedicated proponent of the Korean Sa'am style, Jonathan's first love is herbal medicine. This interest dates back to 2009 when he met a last-of-his-lineage Ayurvedic herbalist while on a Fulbright Fellowship in Nepal. Noting the potent efficacy of traditional herbal medicine and its endangered status in some areas, Jonathan decided to devote himself to upholding herbal traditions. Fifteen years on, Jonathan has gained a wealth of materia medica knowledge and prescribes herbs to the great majority of his patients.
As a lifelong student of esoteric and wisdom traditions, Jonathan has worked extensively with the Yi Jing (also spelled I Ching), China's ancient Book of Change. Finding Yi Jing techniques to be invaluable both inside and outside the clinic, Jonathan offers Yi Jing Consults to those seeking to shed light on a crossroads or decision they face.
Outside of clinic, Jonathan is co-founder with his wife of Heartward Sanctuary in Silk Hope, where he lives with his family. He maintains an herbal apothecary, makes medicinal incense, and writes about traditional medicine and related interests at SeedsfromtheWorldTree.Substack.com. He speaks Nepali (fluent) and Italian (proficient).
