Toby Wedgle, MTCM, LAc, Dipl Ac, Dipl CH
Toby Wedgle is a licensed practitioner of Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine and is board certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.
Toby obtained a master’s degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) from the Five Branches Institute in Santa Cruz, CA in 2003. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Chinese from the University of Colorado at Boulder. In 1995 she attained her certification as a massage therapist from the Boulder College of Massage Therapy.
In Santa Cruz, Toby completed her course work in Traditional Chinese Medicine and a simultaneous track in Five Element Acupuncture making her one of the few practitioners in the Triangle area proficient in both styles of acupuncture. Since joining MHS in 2016 she’s also trained in Japanese and Saam style acupuncture which now make up the bulk of her acupuncture practice. She has a 20+ year practice of meditation and is currently a student and assistant teacher of Jingui Golden Shield qi gong.
While she treats a variety of conditions, Toby’s acupuncture practice is dedicated to helping people through life’s transitions. This means she works with women going through menopause, patients looking for a different approach to working with anxiety and depression, and helping people overcome physical pain and digestive disorders. In 2024, Toby earned her Certificate in Pediatric Acupuncte, giving her the unique specialty to treat children from infancy onward, helping them with issues like digestive problems, allergies, emotional issues, and all types of neuro-diversity. Toby uses acupuncture, analyzes basic lab work, prescribes supplements and Chinese herbs, and offers nutritional and lifestyle support to every patient with whom she works.
