Emily Mann is a licensed acupuncturist in North Carolina and is nationally board certified in Acupuncture by the NCBAHM. She has been in practice for more than eleven years and will be moving down from Asheville to join our clinic starting on July 8th. Please contact our front office if you would like to book an appointment.

While studying pre-med at Emory University, Emily’s interests expanded beyond modern biomedicine and into the study of botany, ecology, and traditional healing systems. She later attended New College of Florida, where she studied botany and environmental studies and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in 2004. During her undergraduate studies, she also studied Hawaiian medicinal herbs through the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa.

After moving to Asheville in 2004, Emily began working at the Chinese Acupuncture Clinic where she was inspired by the ability of Chinese medicine to connect seemingly unrelated symptoms into a unified understanding of health and disease. She went on to receive a Master of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from Daoist Traditions College of Chinese Medical Arts in Asheville, North Carolina.

She has continued her studies ever since, including extensive post-graduate studies with Jeffrey Yuen, an 88th-generation Daoist priest and internationally respected teacher of Classical Chinese Medicine. This has shaped her approach to diagnosis and treatment, emphasizing individualized care that addresses the root causes of illness while supporting the body's natural capacity to heal.

Emily has a genuine passion for helping patients navigate life’s transitions. This means she works with patients of all ages on mental and emotional struggles like stress, anxiety and depression. Life’s transitions also include: perimenopausal symptoms, supporting healthy aging and longevity, Alzheimer’s and dementia, and treating the side effects of cancer treatment.

As a general wellbeing practitioner, Emily treats a wide range of conditions and particularly enjoys supporting patients whose symptoms are complex and multifaceted; which includes but is not limited to kidney and liver health, digestive disorders, cardiovascular disease (including hypertension and hyperlipidemia), and chronic disorders.

She often treats patients for pain related to headaches and migraines, orthopedic pain and injury, post-surgical recovery, neuropathy and neuralgias.
